Barrier-Free and Accessible Showers in Florida

Barrier-Free and Accessible Showers in Florida

Low entries, built-in seats and grab bars, so bathing is safe again.

When getting in and out of the tub is hard, every bath becomes a risk. An accessible bathroom remodel fixes the parts that matter: the step in, a place to sit, and something solid to hold.

A barrier-free shower has no curb or step at the entry, so you can walk straight in. People also call it a zero-entry or curbless shower. A low-threshold shower keeps a small lip at the entry, far lower than stepping over a tub wall. We install both, and your designer helps you choose based on how you move and how your bathroom is built.

A built-in seat lets you sit while you shower. Grab bars go where you naturally reach: by the entry, along the wall and next to the seat. Your designer looks at how you move through the bathroom today and plans the new shower around it.

If you would rather keep a bath, a walk-in tub has a door, a built-in seat and grab bars, so you sit down first and the water fills around you. If you have a tub now and mostly shower, a tub-to-shower conversion puts a low-threshold shower in the same space.

We replace just the tub or the shower, not the whole bathroom, so most jobs take as little as one day. We offer special pricing for families of children with disabilities. Ask about it when you book your design visit.

Installation is done mainly by our own crews, so one company is accountable from start to finish. Every job comes with a lifetime warranty on the product and the workmanship.

We serve 36 Florida communities, from Tampa Bay and Orlando to Jacksonville, the Space Coast and Southwest Florida.

Dale was very pleasant to work with. He also was very focused on the job, kept dust/ dirt at a minimum, explained what he was doing when I asked, and left everything very clean at the conclusion of the project. He also gave me instructions on cleaning and care of the product.

We paid a LOT of $$ for a new shower last September 2020. Took a couple of months for them to start. Came back at least 3 different times to fix do what they messed up didn't do right to start with. The 4th time was a couple of months ago, A new man came out told us the whole job was a mess & needed to be redone. Someone would call use the next day.. NO one has called, was told several times they are having "Help Problem's I would NEVER EVER recommend them to my worst enemy..

Frequently asked questions

What is a barrier-free shower?A shower with no step or curb to climb over at the entry, so you can walk straight in. It is one of the easiest options when stepping up is hard.
Is a walk-in tub or a walk-in shower better for limited mobility? It depends on how you move and how you like to bathe. A walk-in tub lets you sit for a full bath; a walk-in shower is quicker to get in and out of. Our designer will look at your bathroom and talk it through with you.
Can you add grab bars and a seat to a new shower?Yes. Grab bars and built-in seats can be placed where you need them as part of your new shower or tub.
Do you offer special pricing for families of children with disabilities?Yes. Ask about it when you book your design visit and we will include it in your quote.
What is the difference between a zero-entry and a low-threshold shower?A zero-entry shower, also called barrier-free or curbless, has no step at the entry. A low-threshold shower has a small lip, much lower than a tub wall. Your designer will show you which one fits your bathroom.
Do I need a whole new bathroom to get an accessible shower? No. We replace just the tub or the shower and keep the rest of the room, so most jobs take as little as one day.
Where should grab bars go?Where you naturally reach: by the entry, along the shower wall and next to the seat. Your designer plans them around how you move, not a standard drawing.
