Often it is a son or daughter who notices first. A parent has slipped, or is avoiding the tub, or you watched them step over the tub wall and held your breath. A safer bathroom is one of the most practical things you can do to help them stay in their own home.
Some signs it may be time: your parent bathes less often than they used to, holds the towel bar or the sink to step into the tub, has slipped or nearly slipped, or now needs help getting in and out.
The hard part is usually the conversation, not the bathroom. Many parents worry that a remodel means weeks of workers in the house and a room they can't use. It doesn't. We replace just the tub or the shower, so most jobs take as little as one day and the rest of the bathroom stays the way your parent likes it.
You can be part of every step, even if you live out of state. Join the design visit in person or by phone. You will see the same plan and the same written quote your parent sees, before anything is decided.
The usual fixes are a tub-to-shower conversion with a low threshold, a walk-in shower with a low or barrier-free entry, or a walk-in tub with a door and a built-in seat for a parent who still loves a bath. Grab bars and built-in seats go where your parent actually needs them.
Installation is done mainly by our own crews, so one company is accountable from start to finish. When the job is done we walk your parent through it, and you too if you want to be there, and activate the lifetime warranty. It covers the product and the workmanship for as long as your parent owns the home.
We serve 36 Florida communities, from Tampa Bay and Orlando to Jacksonville, the Space Coast and Southwest Florida.
